About Us
Lismore Private Hospital will be a 66 bed medical and
rehabilitation hospital located in
the Northern Rivers area of NSW. The hospital is due for completion early 2007.
For the past 25 years the Northern Rivers of NSW has been one of the fastest growing regions of the country due to people migrating from the cities to the warmer climate and relaxed lifestyle. This population migration is expected to continue well into the century
as the Northern Rivers area of NSW becomes part of the wider Brisbane – Gold Cast
corridor. The Northern Rivers region is located on the far north coast of NSW. It covers
an area of approximately 20,896 sq km along the NSW coastal strip east of the Great Dividing Range that extends from the Queensland border in the north, to south of
Grafton. It is one of the fastest growing and dynamic regions in Australia.
Lismore is located 90 minutes from the Gold Coast and 2 hours from Brisbane. In the
next few years the time to the Gold Coast and Brisbane will be reduced to one hour
and one and half hours respectively once the Tugan bypass is completed. The population
of the Northern Rivers is approximately 300,000 people and is growing at twice the rate
of the rest of the state.
